Self-Improvement

I am a fan.  I can't help it.  Improve myself? Let me count the ways, the possibilities, the benefits and on and on and on.

My offspring view any attempt at self-improvement as ludicrous and personally embarrassing.  (As if THEY were born, fully formed).  My husband finds the entire topic wearing.  Up until now.

He calls this the best short self help film ever.  As if!
Check it out and let me know your thoughts.

  1. I agree with Barry. This is absolutely true. It's not instantaneous, but it's true.

  2. I really enjoyed it, and have decided, where relevant, to act as if. :)

  3. Where relevant, yes. As a matter of fact, right now I'm acting as if I'm physically fit. I hope it works.

  4. Good find, Barry, and I think, on the whole it's pretty true. Except the asking people to smile thing -- I hate when strangers ask me to smile. (I'm going to try the procrastinator's trick.)

  5. AH: OMG I HATE when someone (only my husband) asks me to smile! I reward the poor guy with a scowl. Color me oppositional.

  6. Me, too.

However, if I feel bad and I make myself smile, I feel better. That is so weird.

  7. I can tell you're restless. But I don't mind hearing this idea again.

Now if we can only get people to act, or just think. Maybe if they just act as if they are thinking, or think as if they are acting? Well, it's an idea I'll just leave to the thinkers & actors of the world.

Btw, I like your profile smile. Did your husband take the pic?

  8. CP!
I THINK we can only ACT for ourselves. Now, that's a tough one for me, considering how many, many times I am annoyed by the actions of others;)
Photo credit goes to Skye--thanks for noticing!

  9. I love that video, and I am suspicious of much self improvement, but I believe when it starts with "Researchers say..."
