In their latest newsletter, they say "Foods you didn't know you could grill" and prominently feature brussel sprouts. They don't answer my question, "Why would you WANT to?"
Grilled peaches, on the other hand, another recommendation, are fabulous. Halve and pit them, grill them skin side down and sprinkle a teaspoon of sugar where the pit was. Turn.

Oh, Des. Here's something I know: Brussells sprouts, sliced in half then grilled or roasted, are sublime. Maybe add a dash of parmesan if you like, but I don't need it.
ReplyDeleteGoodie! I get to learn from you! I love them roasted, too, but grilling these spheres strikes me as so challenging!
ReplyDeleteThat was my thought: I get to teach Desiree something about food!
ReplyDeleteI've roasted them, and I've tasted them grilled, but I didn't grill them. Surely one needs a special grate or they'll just fall through. Maybe wrap in foil with a bit of oil?
I have a prejudice against those little rubber balls in any manifestation. Peaches, on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteLove grilled peaches! Sometimes we put honey on them.
ReplyDeleteI will have both. I love Brussels sprouts but peaches are good too.
ReplyDeleteI've not had brussel sprouts grilled but they are one of my favorite vegetables. Peaches either for that matter but what a wonderful photo. I do have one thing I like to do. Core an apple then fill it with brown sugar and bake for a long time. It's a pretty decent desert
ReplyDeletePA: Yum, yum~ must try, along w/Bec's honeyed approach. AH- always the skeptic ;)
