More guilty secrets

It has occurred to me that I am a fussy eater. Hmm. Faithful readers may not be surprised. Due to various circumstances my husband has been cooking lately, and I have been a glum and unworthy dining companion. Dear, dear.

And yet--
some of my favorite meals have been cooked by others: fancy stuff, simple stuff, hamburgers--
That's it! If he would stick to hamburgers instead of curry, perhaps I would be a sprightly and worthy dining companion. I have decided I really don't like curry made from mid-western recipes found on line. Unfortunately, as is the pattern in my house, three other people do.

I am curious, readers, what is your favorite dish made by someone dear to you? Mine is any pasta made by my son. (Oh for cryin' out loud. Doesn't that sound just like a mother?)

  1. Maybe you just haven't tried Peoria Curry.

(Very funny post. And if you're asking what husbands or boyfriends seem best at cooking, I'd say sandwiches.)

  2. Ooh! My husband makes the best Argentine arroz con pollo. It is a family recipe and I have him make it every year on my birthday. Also, I'll settle for anything you are making.

  4. It's hard 2 pic just 1. But, the Argentine arroz con el pollo loco by Mr.MF sounds good.

Someones dear to me include professional chefs, so that can be really difficult. Too many visions of sweet & savory are overheating my brain - including stuff from the potLuck. I can't decide!

  5. Lucky you, CO! Tnhanks, M, and since this is the second time you've mentioned this dish, I figure it must be sublime--
Thanks, AH, and I'll Bing the rec right now ;)

  6. I wish someone would make arroz con pollo for me. I'd even settle for a sandwich.

  7. I love it when I don't have to cook. J does fish especially well, but I'm happy when he heats a can of soup for me. I think it has to do with feeling pampered.

  8. Great note, P, and I think that's what S means--

  9. No one ever cooks for me, either. Steve used to cook one night of the weekend but he hasn't done that in a looong time. I think we'll have to re-institute that little tradition. I'll blame you, Desiree. ;-)

  10. So, not only am I glum and unworthy, now I feel whiny and ungrateful! --
