What I love about October

I can't resist these triangles of sugar.  Cheerful and evocative of autumn foliage to come.  I particularly enjoy pairing them with walnut pieces.  It's a great combo that somehow makes me feel more virtuous.

Didja enjoy the morning's thunderstorm?  I practically jumped out of my seat from the din.  A delightful omen

    My youngest adores these. Loved the thunder. Would have preferred it with actual rain...

    My least favorite candy to eat, but they look beautiful in a bowl. My grandmother managed to serve them year round.

    In small doses, I love these.

    The dog chewed a hole in the bathroom wall, where we had left him "safe and secure" during the storm (we were out). I don't think he appreciates the finer points of thunder.
