Cleaning out My Wallet

Cleaning out my wallet I came across two Metro Cards.  Flipping them over I found that they're good till July/2014.  And beneath that I read:

Voyager

I have become an orchid
washed in on the salt white beach.
Memory,
what can I make of it now
that might please you--
this life, already wasted
and still strewn with
 miracles?

  1. I checked my TAP card (transit access pass). No poetry.

I'd be happy to find what you found anytime, anywhere.

  3. I never found poetry on any of my TAP cards. That is certainly a lovely poem.

  5. Metro has done things with poets through the years although I've never seen this. They put poems up where the advertising (used to be in the interior of buses). They gave out book marks with poems on them. I tried for a slot in collaboration with a poet (nope-passed). Next time it comes up, I'm going to grab Linda Dove and see if she wants to join me in a collaboration.

    go check out Barbara's paintings ^ ^ ^

  6. The card may be good until July 2014, but there's certainly no expiration date for the poem.
